Who Altenar are

Altenar started in 2011 as BetInAction Software and took its current name in 2014. It is headquartered in Douglas, Isle of Man, with six offices worldwide — Malta, Greece, Brazil, Peru and Uruguay alongside the Isle of Man — and roughly 700 to 800 staff.

It is a sportsbook supplier, not a games studio. There is no proprietary slot content: casino games are brokered through a Casino Partners programme alongside the sportsbook rather than built in-house. If you are evaluating Altenar, you are evaluating a betting engine and the trading operation behind it.

The product comes in four commercial shapes: the Sportsbook Module for operators who already have a platform, Turnkey for those who need the whole stack, White Label for fast launches, and a Retail Solution covering self-service terminals and shop estate management.

The part worth understanding is the managed service. Altenar staff supervise pricing and liability around the clock on the operator’s behalf, with configurable stake and liability limits per market and per player. For an operator without a trading team, that is the actual product.

Altenar does not publish a betting-market or monthly-event count, so no figure is quoted here. Its own materials give both “30+ countries” and “50+ regulated markets” — the lower figure is the safer one to plan against.

What makes it different

What Altenar does differently

Three things separate it from a plain odds feed: who prices the book, who lays out the pages, and where the data comes from.

A managed trading desk

Altenar staff supervise pricing and liability 24/7 on your behalf, with stake and liability limits configurable per market and per player. For an operator without an in-house trading team this is the difference between running a sportsbook and owning a liability you cannot see.

Multi-feed data aggregation

Premium Data Feeds pulls odds and scouting data from more than one supplier behind a single integration, so pricing is not hostage to one feed. The April 2026 Racing and Sports deal added racing data, pricing and editorial the same way.

Bet Mentor

A per-player recommendation engine rather than an editorial featured-bets panel: suggestions are derived from that individual’s betting history. A retention tool that happens to sit in the betting interface.

Where it runs

Where Altenar operates

Regulated Europe is the base — the UK, Malta, Romania, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Italy and Portugal. The UKGC licence is unusually well documented for a sportsbook supplier, and in March 2026 Altenar added a Game Host (Casino) licence to it.

Latin America is the current growth engine. Offices opened in Brazil and Peru in March 2025, Peru homologated the platform in April 2025, and a Brazil commercial team was built out through late 2025.

Canada is expanding: Ontario registration plus an Alberta conditional supplier licence granted July 2026, just ahead of that market opening. South Africa is covered by a national manufacturer licence.

FAQ

Altenar — common questions

Sports betting technology. Four configurations: a sportsbook module for operators with an existing platform, a turnkey stack including player accounts and payments, a white-label brand for fast launches, and a retail solution with self-service terminals. It does not build its own casino games.

Not its own. Third-party casino content is brokered through its Casino Partners programme alongside the sportsbook. In March 2026 it added a Game Host (Casino) licence to its UK account, which extends what it can host, but Altenar is not a games studio.

Altenar staff supervise pricing and liability 24 hours a day on the operator’s behalf, with stake and liability limits configurable per market and per player. For an operator without an in-house trading team, this is usually the deciding feature.

Yes, and unusually transparently. UK Gambling Commission account 53306 covers betting host for real and virtual events, gambling software, and game host (casino) from March 2026. It also holds Malta Type 2 B2B, Ontario AGCO registration GRSM1240869, Alberta, Romania ONJN Class 2, Peru MINCETUR homologation, plus Denmark, Sweden, Greece and South Africa.

Regulated Europe by history and Latin America by current momentum — Brazil, Peru and Uruguay offices, with Peru homologated in April 2025. Canada is newly expanding through Ontario and Alberta.

Altenar does not publish a standard timeline, and it varies enormously by configuration: a white label launches far faster than a module integrated into your own platform and wallet. Ask for a scoped estimate against your own stack rather than a headline figure.
